“John has a unique way of listening to a problem, asking the hard questions and providing a solution. Sometimes not what you want to hear but what you need to hear.”

John and I first worked together almost 20 years ago. We quickly established that we attended the same school 3 years apart, but knew nothing of each other back then, we soon became friends. I became John's first employee some years later and helped begin the construction dominance of Fremantle Constructions. Although I finished with Fremantle in 2008, we have been mates ever since.

During this time I have witnessed the evolution of an amazing human. From the early days of stressing about cash flow with incredibly late nights and weeks of worry to today and his financial freedom. But there is so much more to John than many people realise.

During the years of Fremantle Constructions, John was surrounded by an awesome team and his thirst to develop the team and better himself was admirable. I am unsure of when he started but John's thirst for self improvement and knowledge about the workings of the individual and also the team minds is like no one else I have ever met.

John has an amazing ability to retain some of the most powerful and insightful information from his learnings that still amazes me to this day. I have been fortunate enough to spend a lot of time talking one on one with John about everything from personal relationships, business, finance, sport, fitness techniques and of course nutrition and John's love for food.

There has not been one of these conversations where John has given the topic more value, meaning and purpose. Most chats have resulted in a few takeaway gems but a few have resulted in serious self reflection. John has a unique way of listening to a problem, asking hard questions and providing a solution. Sometimes not what you want to hear but what you need to hear.

I would like to thank John for being a great friend and being there when I needed someone.
