Pluto LNG Civil works
Location: Karratha WA
Project owner: Woodside
Our client: Leighton Contractors
Duration: 13 months
The Pluto LNG Project is Woodside’s first majority owned processing plant that produces LNG from the Pluto gas field, located in the Carnarvon Basin about 190 km north-west of Karratha, in the North West Shelf.
Gas is piped in a 180km trunk line to the onshore facility, located between the North West Shelf Project and Dampier Port on the Burrup Peninsula. The total area of the Pluto leases for the onshore facility is about 200ha, of which the plant and associated infrastructure cover about 80ha.
Civil works followed on from Leighton Contractors site preparation contract. Fremantle Constructions poured in excess of 30,000m3 of concrete with our experienced and skilled teams of form workers, Carpenters, concreters and steel fixers. We carried out these works on both contract and cost-plus.
We were responsible for constructing the power generated footings (GTG), the agrew area as well as drainage structures. We then moved on to assist in the installation of culverts, pits and concrete paving.
